Differential diagnosis

There are a number of conditions that must be considered in the differential diagnosis of a patient with possible PBS/IC, including: 4

  • Urinary tract infection (UTI)
  • Overactive bladder (OAB)
  • Endometriosis
  • Bladder carcinoma
  • Drug effects: cyclophosphamide, aspirin, non-steroidal
    anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and allopurinol.

Differential diagnosis
